I got some of the double primulas. So pretty!!!! Also picked up more pansies, violas, and daffs for pots.

Had a good browse thru the perennials that were open and chose another new huechera variety that likes sun.

Now all I need is time off to plant! :sunshine:

Did I grab shallots at Extra Foods like I could have? No.

So, Lady t, did you see shallots at the Greenry? Looks like I'm off to check for those now. I may have run outta room for new plants too but plan to down size sedums soon. Picked up flat boxes at Costco for that very purpose, to off load sedums on suspecting peeps. (They really really spread folks.)

Queenie, the Greenery is selling sedum hanging baskets. Just a wire basket with moss and sedums. I'm totally going to do that this year with the wire basket that I didn't even use last year. Take a look while you are there. They are near the primulas.

I'm not sure I saw shallots, but I did see a bunch of onion starts. There was a wall of various onions and garlics in bulb form that I didn't examine too closely, was helping friend pick out dinner plate dahlias for her father-in-law's birthday.

I was told the delphiniums can be planted now (and I got an awesome rudbeckia, gorgeous colours!) and so can the violets and primulas. Mine will sit on my covered deck for the weekend - will plant then. I will keep eyeing those double primulas for the next little while, thinking of getting some.

Hey! Buckerfield's has Mason Bee houses! I think I'll buy one in April - always good to have bees around.

These are the ones they carry: http://beediverse.com/

Screening compost.

Too cold out to do much else. Raking some leaves maybe.

It was warmer out two weeks ago, blast it. What happened? Came in to warm up, but no, not working out here.

I have iris poking their leaves up in the bed beside the house. My poppies are also sending green shoots. The buds on the two magnolia trees are getting fatter, too. I love spring!

Almost all our red polish garlic is up and dozens of unplanned garlic in the old garlic bed. We have far too much swiss chard coming up in two beds, so I have to cut some of that back. (And cook some tonight).

Far too many flowers to count are coming back. I have to remove, revitalize the soil and replant. The compost I got this year is unreal.

Oh, and ants are back. Yes, ants. The ever perenniel problem!
