I have tons of tomatoes and peppers still.
Eating 3 of each a day and if the frost stays away for a bit, I'll have a chance to overcome them.
Dunno about the jalepenos tho, I cant keep up to them.

^ Dehydrate them. Keep them in a cheesecloth bag in a dark and cool place. Or cut them in half and oven dry them.. We have so many hot peppers of so many varieties that I am fearing for the salsa we are gonna make.

When I got up this morning at 5 am the temp was 6+. Right now it is 8.4 but will probably drop to around 5 tonight. Still glad we got our tomatoes in when we did. Gonna be busy next week!

I have tons of tomatoes left too on the vines. They are planted against my house so I should have a bit more time to let them ripen on the vine. I managed to squeak in a second crop of peas which I'm snacking on now. My celery will be cut shortly. I still have tons of Swiss chard and kale. My peppers were bunk this year but I think it;s because they were too crowded. My potato vines still haven't died down and are flowering so I'm leaving them be for a bit. I picked up some Russian garlic at the Rock Creek Fair to plant for Spring. My zucchinis are going crazy but my butternut is stunted. The vine looks green and lush, I have 5 squashes started but they are midgets and have kept that size for a week. The little gourds looks happy but are not growing. It's my first time growing them though so that may be normal for all I know. The bush beans are still going but slowing down. Lettuce was a bust this year.

Aren't you supposed to plant garlic in the Fall?

Last night's frost killed my zucchini. That's okay because we have more zucchini than we know what to do with.

We're still using Swiss Chard and second generation lettuce. Lots of tomatoes and lots of peppers still coming. What's suprising to me is the sifted compost. A surprising amount of seeds in the compost actually sprouted up and I had dozens of tomatoe plants from it. Not to mention all the other greens coming up.

I haven't actually planted it yet. You can plant garlic in spring or fall. So far I haven't had much luck with it. I've left a couple heads in for over a year and they are still tiny. I'll keep experimenting until I figure it out.

I had two zucchini plants and was expecting to be overwhelmed and giving some away. I have less fruit but they are huge this year.

I have about 50 lbs or so of garlic, and lots left in the garden.
People walk backwards when I talk. Funny to watch.

A cold night tomorrow then some warmer nights coming up.
If you have a chance of an early frost and want to save some tender plants, a good trick is to put a water sprinkler on them overnight.

Forecast for tonight is -1. Time to go harvest the tomatoes.

Harvested mine, they're all sitting on the deck in coolers (too many for a bowl, not enough large baskets). Making green tomato chutney this weekend :)

I'm hanging on for one more weekend. Making green tomato coffee cake with whatever is left anyways.

Swiss Chard still doing well and carrots are getting bigger.
