Maybe you can get together and put up a fence for privacy and then you can line it with dogwoods, ninebarks, and cranberry bushes. Birds love them!

If like to see him put up a privacy fence on his side, as it would only be lining the chainlink that is already on my side. After those trees are gone I'll start amending the soil and adding climbing vines to cover the chainlink. Right now those trees steal all the water. I did have success growing sunflowers against that side, but they are smallish.

We have Virginia Creeper on our chain link at the back. It is very aggressive and somewhat prone to white fly, but if you keep it lopped back it fills in thickly and has a beautiful red fall colour. It tends to seed all over the yard (did I mention aggressive?) so I'm sure I'll have some starters this spring if you want them.

I'm all set for spring, don't need any of this winter bs . . .

I didn't get snow yesterday but I got up to an inch of it this morning and its still snowing. Bummer.

The good news is that it is melting already and the best news is that Daylight Savings Time starts on March 10. YAY!

we still have a skiff of snow here. I'm glad I was able to clean up in the garden this weekend before it hit. I hadn't a chance to get to it in the fall, so I had tomato plants, sunflowers, bean & pea vines and such all brown and withered to clear out. Filled my green bin.

I'm not a fan of daylight savings >.> Messes with my body clock for weeks. Leave me on one or the other, but quit making me change twice a year!

In other news, when I was clearing out the garden I found a pea plant had sprouted, a volunteer from the vines I'd left up. I wonder how it has fared . . . guess I'll see.

Awww, am sorry the change of clocks messes with you, Lady. I live for those longer evening hours and start getting crabby when I have to change the clock in the fall.

When I lived in Dawson Creek 34 years ago, some businesses in the town changed their clock to DST, some didn't and some split the difference. If you went to town early in the morning or later in the day, you had to phone ahead to see what clock they were on What a pain that was!
