Post by petspal »

I only have one mouse in my house but I can't get rid of him.....he can manage to get the pb off the traps and be on his way
Hate to call a pest control for one mouse but I have tried for three days Any suggestions?

Perhaps you need a cat?

Phone Buckerfields. They may have a different kind of trap that will work.

What kind of trap do you have? If it is like this one, I put pb or cheese-whiz on the pedal part and also on the inside at the top of the trap... sometimes mousey will try to lick the bait from the top part of the trap and touch the pedal part and .....

We had to change traps because one type didn't do the job.

Some snakes are good mousers, of course if you are afraid of snakes defeats the whole idea.

Try the bucket trap.

5 gallon bucket with about 2" of water. Run a piece of string threw a drinking straw and tie both ends on both sides of the bucket, a little peanut butter on the straw. A ramp for the mouse to get to the straw.

I had the same thing, no luck with a couple traps so I called pest control and they simply put out more cheap traps. I had two, they put out a dozen, logic being theyre bound to set one off.

It did work, our mouse finally set off a trap but it unfortunately survived and somehow dragged the trap into the space between our heating ducts and the ceiling. For days we could hear it's little claws scratching away above our heads in the living room with the trap dragging behind, was sad and disturbing all at the same time.

Good luck with yours. lol

I had one in the house last year. I put warfarin out where he ran. Took a month, but no more mouse.

I felt terrible, but I can't share a house with one of those (between allergies and cleaning up after the filthy rodent . . . ick)
I haven't failed until I quit.

I think a .22 would have been sufficient.

True, but mouse was hidden behind wall anyway.
