Alas, with this recent cold snap, I fear gardening season is over.

It is November 20th afterall and the flowers were blooming just wonderfully, yesterday!

See ya all in 2016?

What do you do in the "off" months? I look at catalogs, figure out a schedule for spring cleanup, and plan next years garden. I rotate my beds as best I can.

This coming year I'm thinking of putting in irrigation - to make the watering easier and more efficient.

I plan for things like Seedy Saturday, and the opening of the farmer's market and of course - The Greenery.

Every year I wing it. Garden overflows with so much to eat we can't keep up usually. Next year I plan for one thing though, to put leeks back in, earlier and closer together. Everything else is winged.

I do have a plan for the chain link though, it's getting four different varieties of peas. But that was determined a long time ago.

Can't wait.

Bman, the count down please.

I have ornamentals up. They got their first fertilizer today.
They'll be mature and in full bloom before January's end.
I'm almost finished my new indoor flower room.
To hell with winter.

I guess sowing wild oats is a thing of the past.
Kind of like calling "buds" flowers in modern terminology.

I have pansies and petunias still alive outside.
My bluecrop blueberry nodes are swelling.
It's going to be a gorgeous week.
Another ten or twelve weeks to go.

To Bman ...

I will gladly take all of the old dried up, sulphur contaminated bulbs that you may be going to throw out with your old brown pansies. For the sole purpose of helping you dispose of them of course. And I won't even charge you for it.
