Cleaning aluminum coffee maker
So, I did something stupid the other day. I put my wife's favorite Bialetti coffee maker into a dishwasher, and because of the chemicals it's now all spotty and looks quite gross. Is there a good way to clean it and bring it up to original state?
I've checked online and some people say it's not worth the effort, and some claim it's possible. Is there a good old fashioned way to clean it? Perhaps a trick of sorts (or how kids these days say "a lifehack")?

Sarcasm is like a good game of chess. Most people don't know how to play chess.

Make a thick paste of baking soda & water - thoroughly cover exterior, let sit 15-20 minutes; wash off. Might have to do 2 or 3 times.
