Same at Superstore, though they're only doing them at half off. Still, I picked up a 3 ft tall flaming red stonecrop sedum for my MIL, for $3!

I LOVE growing my own food - even when I don't know what to do with it! Last night I started some liqueurs (oy has vodka gotten expensive, even the cheap stuff!). I used my leftover strawberries, blueberries, some raspberries and what was left of my haskaps for one. Then I used raspberries for the others. I plan on doing blackberry ones when they're ripe.

I saw a shout out on a veggie/fruit swap board for rhubarb - my rhubarb has gotten so big I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it. So I cut my plant back to a third, and put the stalks in a clear plastic leaf bag (some stalks are about 4 ft). Took it to a lady who runs a cherry orchard out in Lake Country. 25lbs of rhubarb gets me 25 lbs of cherries! So the final vodka based liqueur I started was cherry.

And I got some strawberries too, as mine are done and I'm planning on cooking up the rhubarb and freezing it. And the bit I have left is a little more managable, though I'm not sure if I'll use them all.

Chard is going nuts, tomatoes coming along, beans flowering. <3

Our Lilac is not doing well and it is blocking the Sun to our small veggie patch so we decided to cut it back to about 5-6'.
I started on it today because it's yard waste day tomorrow. Damn near passed out from the heat!
I got about 1/3 done till I quit!
I got Married because I was sick and tired of finishing my own sentences.
That's worked out great for me!

It's 8:05 pm and I'm in here to cool off. It's so hot out the tomatos are packing it in. We can't dump enough water on anything and give it hope.

Either the raspberries are not ripe enough or dried to the cane. The other berries are the same. I'm picking them but it's not adding up to anything because the heat has baked the soil.

Peppers are parched sunburnt. The ones Slootman gave me show promise but next year I won't even plant them.

Garlic is mostly harvested, even the volunteer garlic that came up.

Anyone else?
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

I can't keep enough water on stuff - I resorted to deep watering by bucket with plants in distress. Come in to cool down.

I'm picking 3 pounds of blueberries a day off the 6 older ones. The younger ones need another season before they start producing anything.
The bigger ones likely still have another 30 pounds on em.
Been picking spuds for a few weeks.
Been eating pretty much exclusively from the yard for a while.
I love this time of year.

Our little garden area gets lots of shade and everything seems to be doing OK so far. We picked our first green beans the other day and a couple of Raspberries but most of those are pretty small. I hope the fall batch is better.
Working on the Lilac bush a little at a time and when it's mostly in the shade.

Never. But my cukes in the raised beds are doing better than ones in ground.
