I planted giant hogweed around the circumfrence of my property.
Was cheaper than digging a moat.

I'm going to be doing a plant rescue with a co-worker  I'm going to be getting a tree peony out of it! They don't like to be moved though so wish me luck! I think I will work on it this weekend.

I was given a tree peony that was almost dead from someone’s yard. It did just fine although it took a couple of years to really recover. I gave it lots of good soil mixed with compost and fed it extra in the spring. Plus I talked to it every time I went by and told it that it would be safe and loved  I think the talking worked better than the feeding.
Good luck with yours!

This is my problem. The MLS photos are during dead season, with some snow on the ground. The google street photos show some, but not all. I think the top tree one could be an apple . . .

It was spring. Late spring if I remember correctly. It came to me basically at a bare root dead looking weirdly shaped branch. Good thing I love Charlie Brown plants. The next year it had 2 flowers. Now it has many beautiful red and white striped blooms. I love it.

Do you know what colour yours will be?

Not a clue. I am preparing for moving it, either Friday afternoon or Saturday morning. My son is not thrilled about the yard work I will be having him do - I'm also planning on rescuing a hydrangea and some roses.

Hey pbear, do you have a pic of your peony tree?

We had a light frost this morning, is it too early to plant zuke and cuke seeds into the ground?
