Headhunting
I'm looking for an experienced tole painter who can do some decorative work on cabinetry. Some samples or pics of your work would be helpful.
PM me if interested.

Just hit the tail end of the macrame fad. Right after and along with the ceramic craze, I did some tole painting back in the 80's. It's a technique-style painting method. Sort of a really advanced paint-by-numbers. Trace first from a pattern then do lots of blending of pre-determined strips and dots of paint colours. One doesn't need to be real artistically inclined, although being so results in better outcomes.
I would say I am not particularly talented with a paintbrush, however the results of my efforts were impressive to those who didn't have a clue how it was done. Mother still has a piece I gifted her with hanging in her kitchen. The rest graced my walls for 20 years and then my daughters latched on to the "priceless works of art" and they are hanging in their homes.
To be honest, my daughters can paint/create much better original stuff. (That's some of what's hanging in my house now!)

It's possible to do all the right things and still get a bad result.

Truly...a poorly formed stick person is ALL I can draw.
ANYONE can tole paint. (Works best of course, if you have a class instructor to "fix" things up a tad...)
