Cheap Peeps

Post by SpazmoTheMagnificent »

Why is it that during every hockey game in Kelowna...all the people that drive to the game...do not use the parking provided? They all hate to pay for parking!
I have seen folks park on the streets on the other side of Harvey, and walk to the game...just so they don't have to pay!
People in this town are either living in last century or are the cheapest people in Canada!

Some people go for dinner before the game and it is just easier to walk then try to find or pay for a spot near the rink. The library parking lot takes forever to get out of if you get on one of the upper levels and by the time you get out you could walk further to your car elsewhere.
You can't fix stupid........BUT you can dress them up and over pay them to teach your kids!

I can't dispute that, one or two likely do. But a majority of folks do NOT go for dinner, because it happens on the other side of Richter to the east and as far as Knox mountain to the north.
Nice try though...my guess is you don't pay either. do you?

We got into the habit of parking "away" from Prospera quite some time ago...because they were always FULL. Now it's just as easy to park elsewhere, without the hassle of driving by there.."hoping" that there are still some spots open. :124:

What do you mean nice try?? Actually I have a seasons pass for the library parking lot. I usually go to Tonics pub prior to the game and it is almost easier to walk from there to the rink then deal with the parkade like I mentioned. And why would someone want to pay $7 to park in prosperas lot? I pay $99 for the entire hockey season.

Good for you. The ones I see walking from Knox mountain or from the east...don't go for dinner.
Is the Library lot full during a game?

I was kinda expecting an apology!! The library is full unless you get there by 630 that is why people park by knox mtn. People would rather park down there then where all the crack heads are.

Good for you...was my appology! :12077:
So your saying that folks park miles away because they are not cheap, but because there is not enough places to park?

I think we are talking a half Km to .75km at the most. A mile will put you a lot further than you think let alone miles like you suggested.

True.
Embellishment syndrome...can get bad if left unchecked.

We live in the area...and take the dog for a walk at that time...I swear to god. I kid you not...people park on the other side of Richter to the east. And as far as the bay and mountain to the north. I'm thinking they are cheap.

walk around near the arena and I am sure you will see why they have to park that far away.. There are over 6000 people and probably only 2-3 people per car. That leaves 2-3000 cars that need spots never mind people going to the casino, movies, dinner, and other functions in the area. Just to put 3000 cars in perspective that is the approx amount of car stalls at orchard park that need to park somewhere.

Time for Prospera to step up for its customers then. Stacked garages on site would help a lot...excuse the pun.

I don't pay for parking, cause I have legs that work, and I like the walk. Doesn't mean I am cheap.
