Yeah, it's only preseason and the Canucks have only won once. So far, it looks like once they fall behind, they have no ambition to fight back and they just seem to be going through the motions to the 60 minute buzzer. Hopefully, Tortorella is holding his rage back until the regular season hits, otherwise, it's going to be a write off season. Go Seahawks!

Wow... Edmonton have got to be desperate to be making a deal for Ilya Bryzgalov.

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=436181

Added: Edmonton current record 17 GP 4 wins 11 loses 2 OT 10 points, 17 points behind top team in West.

It coming up to quarter of the season:
Eastern Conference
1) Tampa Bay
2) Boston
3) Detroit
4) Pittsburgh
5) Toronto
6) Washington
7) Montreal
8) NY Rangers

Only big surprise is where Tampa Bay is in the standing.

Western Conference
1) Anaheim
2) Colorado
3) Chicago
4) Phoenix
5) San Jose
6) St. Louis
7) Minnesota
8) Vancouver

Only surprise here is how bad Edmonton is doing, only team worst in the league is Buffalo.

A lot of hockey still to come.

Footnote: Changes to the playoff format top 3 teams in each division are in, than 2 remaining spots are given to top remaiming teams in the conference..... example:
Atlantic
1) Tampa Bay
2) Boston
3) Detroit
Metropolitan Division
1) Pittsburgh
2) Washington
3) NY Rangers
Wildcard
4) Toronto
5) Montreal

Based on this example this is how match-up would look:
Montreal @ Tampa Bay
Toronto @ Pittsburgh
Detroit @ Boston
NYR @ Washington

Top team in Conference plays worst wildcard team, winner of the other Division plays other wild card team. Then 2nd vs 3rd in each division plays each other.
Just to confuse the hell out of the fans.

Added later: I expected changes in Buffalo so Ted Nolan is back http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=6914 ... L|NHL|home

So is Wayne Gretzky going to return to a team in the NHL in a management/coaching roll and which one would it be.
Leafs, Kings, Rangers or Oilers appear to be interested.

About time that guy has done nothing good for that organization.

The moment I heard they hired Brian Burke as president of hockey operations, I knew Jay's days were numbered.

Yup that's for sure. I'm surprised they kept him on when they announced they hired Burke. The Flames have done better than I thought they would this year, especially considering all the injuries they've had.

Rebuild continues in Calgary, I expected more out of the other Alberta team though.
