Rumour is Stubler's already in Winnipeg, along with Khari Jones. Both will be announced this week, as the new DC and OC respectively. Stubler is an old pal of Mike O'Shea and Khari of course was the old team-mate of Wade Miller, the Bomber's president.

Also - looks like Lapo is going to be the next BC Offensive co-ordinator, so there goes his TSN gig at half-time.

After a Hall of Fame career that spanned 20 seasons, more than 79,000 yards and countless records, Montreal Alouettes quarterback Anthony Calvillo announced his retirement from professional football Tuesday.

The longtime face of the franchise and five-time CFL All-Star was named the CFL's Most Outstanding Player on three separate occasions over the course of his career and holds league records of 79,816 passing yards, 455 touchdown passes, 5,892 completions and 9,437 pass attempts. http://www.cfl.ca/article/au-revoir-ac- ... retirement

Love him or hate him there is no doubt he has had one hell of a career and one of the best QB's in the CFL (if not the best). It was just a shame his career ended on an injury.

Will be interesting to see if he goes into coaching. I know he said he wanted to take a year break first to spend time with is family.

Not completely surprised but will be missed on Montreal's offence, it will be sometime before anyone beats his records if at all.

Happy retirement:

How could anyone hate him? He excelled at the position and was humble about it. Good for him. Great career in the CFL, but as he admitted he was starting to slow down. Getting a concussion also prompted his decision (smart move). He apparently has a coaching position waiting for him with the Alouettes if he wants it. Meanwhile, their previous back-up quarterback, Adrian McPherson, who previously turned down offers to start for other teams saying he was happy learning from Calvillo (the same decision Cavillo once made apprenticing under Tracy Ham) is now reportedly going to go to Calgary.

I think Calvillo was a great QB but he hung around one season too long. He should have packed it in when Trestman left for the NFL. He went out on a low note and I hate to see great athletes do that. If anyone watched any games this year when Calvillo was starting it was almost comical how he reacted when a play didn't work, he'd raise his hands and walk off dejectedly, like some kind of high school kid. And then the concussion that ended his season. Oh AC, it could have been so different if you'd known when your time was up.

I think the players are asking for a little too much. Its not like CFL owners are making millions of dollars. I agree on a wage increase, but not how much they are asking.
