Do you have a favourite Okanagan waterfall?

I like the falls on KLO Creek. Don't ask me how to get to them, I can't quite explain it because we were being followed by something large and happened to come across the falls while trying to avoid turning back.

I really like the ones at Fintry and Hardy, but I honestly haven't seen many of the others.

Yes, I do believe that is where we were. I didn't like the prospect of skidding down the loose rock a ways out of the frame there on the left, so I opted to leap rock-to-rock at the top of the falls and then climb down the bedrock to the right instead. Hubby figured my preference would be the other way around due to how much more it would hurt to slip at the top of a waterfall.

When I get around to making jpeg versions of the photos I took, I'll post one.

There's a nice falls on the creek that comes out of Beaver Lake. Trewhitt falls I think it's called. It's like an oasis... Grassland disappears into a deep narrow valley shaded by cedar trees and tall willows. Skunk cabbage, devil's club and ferns are all around and the falls cascades down from above. IT's one of my favorite places. You can attempt to access it from the pullout near the gun range on Beaver Lake road I can pretty much guarantee you'll never find it though... It's a heck of a bushwack and while it appears taht there was once a well worn trail it's now overgrown.

Christy falls is awesome, you hike to the top of the falls and then it's a steep hike down and then you can walk right behind them. I would say it's a good 200 footer

Here's a picture of Christie Falls. Note the two people sitting under the cliff, just to the left of the falls, for scale. I think the wide angle has probably exaggerated the appearance of the falls a bit, but it's still fairly impressive! If you want the perfect photo, some time around mid afternoon seems to give the best lighting, but that might depend on time of year.

Christie Creek is labelled in the Backroad Mapbook. It flows into Shorts Creek and is located just north of Terrace Mountain. The trail starts at 50.1153° north, 119.6316° west.
