Nothing to exotic but it is silly that there are restrictions in place for law abiding citizens.. I would chose a colt officers, which is just a colt 1911 in 45 acp but with a shorter barrel, 3.5 inches, legal for people who were grandfathered in the 90's by owning short barreled firearms

Obviously, you know nothing whatsoever about the firearms laws in Canada.

What else is new?

If you want police to know what type of "weapons" I have, shall I register my baseball bat and my kitchen knives too?

AK or a variant.

^ I was going to buy the beautiful Canadian edition of the CZ858 last year with carved beaver stock, but alas, the gun has gone from being totally unrestricted to being prohibited, so I'm out of luck now.

I always found it strange that our of all AKs clones, CZ858 was on restricted list while everything else was prohibited.

Here's my "It's prohibited but I wish I could have it" item:

CZ858 was non-restricted, at least that was the case with the one Del Selins had for sale a couple years ago. Now it is prohibited. The big difference between prohibited and not is how scary it sounds or looks. AK-47 is Russian, and that's just scary. CZ858 is Czech, and that doesn't sound so scary.

The Common Sense Firearms Licensing Act should restore your rights to own CZ858s.

Guys the CZ 858 is nothing at all like an AK other than the ammo it shoots and a slight resemblance.
You can still get the VZ 58 and it's non-restricted I think you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between the 58 & 858.

New to Kelowna.

Hello, I am new to the area after moving here with my wife and daughter recently. I love shooting longer range on crown land but I am not familiar with the areas where one can do so around here. If there is anyone familiar with the area and who would like to get together and go shoot on crown or private land, please say hello or message me with information. I am not a rookie shooter. Thanks

He needs full auto on that, looked like his trigger finger started cramping up part way through so he switched to the middle finger.

I don't think there's enough accessories on that rifle.
