To many foolish errors / turnovers by Washington, New York took advantage of that. Game 7 in MSG.

Calgary will be back next year, I also expect there northern rivals to be in the mix as well. (with Connor McDavid & Darnell Nurse, just need goaltender)

Added: next round should be a battle in the west Chicago @ Anaheim

That will be the real Cup final.

Don't count your ducks before they hatch. The teams in the east are all very good teams. I'm still going with my original pre-playoffs prediction: Washington vs. Canucks final. GO CANUCKS!

The only hope for Montreal/Tampa/NYR/Washington is that Chicago and Anaheim beat the living crap out of each other and every game goes three periods of OT. Otherwise either team is going to roll right over any of the teams in the East. None of them can hold a candle to Anaheim's forecheck or Chicago's breakaway speed.

If Tampa lets Montreal to win tonight and go back to Bell Centre, then this could be another comeback down 3 games to none.

Last year same thing with San Jose Sharks then LA went on to win the Cup. Of course I don't see any of the Eastern teams getting past either Anaheim or Chicago.

It all depends on how well Ovechkin plays. That and goal tending. Either way, all 4 remaining teams will be about even, and about equal shot at the cup. I think the East will take it this year.

What does the last 5 Stanley Cup Champions have in common:
Big
Fast
Grit
Heart
Depth

Once a Canadian team puts those 5 things together at same time, only then will the Cup come back to this side of the border.
