i just read this article and it made me sick. yuck.

When bidding to host the 2016 Summer Olympics, Rio de Jaineiro promised the International Olympics Committee that it would eliminate 80 percent of the sewage found in the city’s notoriously filthy water, and would fully regenerate the lagoon in which rowing and kayaking events will be held. Now a few months from the start of the games, Rio has given up on keeping those promises.

Looking back Beijing is now looking beautiful compared to whats coming this Summer, I feel for athletes.

I remember read an article (years ago), it asked Olympic metal hopefuls. If they could be guaranteed a gold metal, would they take drugs. Overwhelming Yes
Thats tell me, some may decline to go but most will not.
Funny (maybe not) how hard IOC pushed to have companies & restaurants with names close to Olympic name removed with no ands.... buts or maybes about it.
But could not force Brazil to clean up the mess before awarding them the Games, priorities are screwed up here.

Summer & Winter games should have 3 or 4 set locations that rotate.

Back to Greece. One set of venues and go there every time. No need to build these facilities every 4 years to have them abandoned.

Greece is pretty broke and may need help for the start up but after that it should pay for itself and may even be an on going revenue generator every four years. Great idea.
