Round 1 of 2016 NHL Playoffs -- Poll --

Postby GordonH » Apr 10th, 2016, 7:13 pm

For some time now I've known no Canadian based team was making this years playoffs.
Which does not mean there is not plenty of excellent Canadian talent still playing.

So you as a poster will have 5 days to pick the teams you feel/believe or are fans of that will win round 1, move on to round 2.

16 becomes 8, so please choose 8 teams to move on.

Sorry this is just for fun, no prizes for winning.

Enjoy, may your team get to round 2

First to 16 wins gets the cup

Here is my reasoning behind my picks based on what I've been hearing between TSN & Sportsnet.

Washington: actually they doing both this time as President Cup winners offence & well defence, so they have good chance.
NYI: its as simple as this Luongo chokes
NYR: now that both Penguin goalies are on injury list
Detroit Tampa Bay have to many key players out of the lineup
Dallas: with the lineup this stacked the Wild don't have a chance
Nashville: This one is going to be tough, I think its Pekka Rinne time to shine
Chicago This is when all those players they loaded up on at trade deadline earn their money
Los Angeles can San Jose match the size of these monsters

Hard to believe that there aren't any Canadian teams in the hunt but I guess it is what it is.

Anyhow;

Washington, Florida, NYR, Detroit, Dallas, Nashville, Chicago and LA.

Sigh............

imho this is wake up call to every owner & management team of each of the Canadian based hockey teams. Stop handing out NTC & NMC contracts, so if you need to make changes you can.

LOL, yes same here, however one game does not make a series.
On another note the refereeing in the Flyers game was brutal.
No i'm not blaming the loss on the two zebras but man they were terrible.!
Time for some old fashion Flyers hockey, as it would be nice to see Holtby get bumped (hard) by accident a couple of three four times next game.! :D Just saying.

Officiating tends to be blamed for teams inability to score (I have not watched any of the playoffs), imho NHL should go back to days blue paint was only goalie area. Run the goalie your gone
