Why do you think they put that sign, "Spin Tires On Pavement" at the corners ? Tires are made to be smoked up. Floorboards are made to rest the gas pedal on. The Green light means GO not idle along. I love the smell of burning rubber in the morning.

Driving back from Hope after the avalanche, I was at the back of a convoy of eight cars, all happily doing a good speed, keeping a good distance from each other on compact snow. Something we did for about 50k without anyone trying to overtake or try anything stupid.
I see a jacked Ram coming up behind us at some stupid speed, and without a moments hesitation, he pulled out and blasted past the lot of us, he was even still passing cars as the road curved left blindly.
The center of the road was unplowed, and full of stones and crap from previous gritting, as well as 6" of loose snow.
Those huge tires threw all this crap all over the lot of us....
I now need a new windshield, and the chips on my three week old car repairing!!

I'd like to make a shout out to the jackasses who make the Rutland Rd/Old Vernon Rd intersection worse than it already is. If you're coming out of Glenmore down Sexsmith to Hwy. 97 and need to turn up the highway to the college/airport just use your huge left turn lane with the advance left. Don't cross 97 and then turn left at the rutland/old vernon intersection to merge onto 97... It screws everything up - you have to wait for your turn at rutland rd, cars get stuck in the intersection behind you as the lights change, and now the crappy stop sign intersection at rutland rd is also clogged up. Not to mention the people trying to get off of Old Vernon Rd left down 97 who already have to make that turn 1 or 2 cars per light - you stopped yet another person from getting that turn made when you decide to detour. Often you will essentially turn two intersections into gridlock with one selfish act. Left turn lane by timmies backed up? I'll just go straight through instead and make the next left! Brilliant, except not so much. Just wait your turn like everyone else instead of *bleep* everyone else so you can gain 30 seconds.

This is usually a morning thing, with glenmore/dilworth folks using this "shortcut" to turn up the highway, but I saw a great one yesterday late afternoon. I'm coming down sexsmith from the airport side, to turn left at Rutland Road. It's just past 4 so there is gridlock at rutland/sexmith/97 from various companies quitting time. I'm in my left turn lane at rutland, ahead of me is another car kinda sideways trying to get into the next left turn lane for 97, blocking the rutland through traffic a bit but not bad considering the usual mess at this intersection. Cars everywhere, trying to cross sexsmith on rutland in both directions, sexsmith/rutland and sexmith/97 all jammed up, the usual. So the light at the highway changes and a raft of traffic is now coming in from the timmies side too. The very first car from that light is going real slow, then slows to a crawl, and I see this old man driving trying to figure out what is happening at the rutland/sexsmith intersection. Just when myself and the cars behind him are all thinking what the hay, GO already, he rolls to a complete stop and flips his signal on to turn left down rutland toward 97. Cue all the cars behind him now blocking the intersection; they've had a green light for about 10 seconds and already are stopped dead, a whole three made it through that light without getting trapped. The putz couldn't even make his turn until our side of the light cleared out enough to open a gap, which meant holding up every car at two intserctions except the through traffic from our side. By the time he got his damn turn made the advance left at the highway onto sexsmith was lit and those people couldn't go anywhere either because the through traffic on sexsmith were still trapped. Nice. I made my turn after he was out of the way and watched in my rear view and yup he was just there to get on 97.

They need to put up No Left Turn signs there for people coming across from the timmies side. There's just no valid reason to ever stop dead three card lengths past a green light like that. The only downside would be employees and patrons of that auction house coming from glenmore/dilworth who have a legit reason to turn there, but something's gotta be done to get rid of the morons who just can't figure out the damage they do stopping there to turn. If you can make the turn fast, great. If you have to stop and wait for traffic just keep going...

Standing outside my vehicle on such a nice warm day doin ma thing when an idiot female in a black Jeep comes barreling down Springfield just past Richter towards the lake at 12:20,YAPPING on what looked like an iphone, maybe a Blackberry, yes looks like she was using a speaker but using one hand to hold it infront of her stupid face or else texting and the other hand to steer.

Driving through Vernon on the highway and guy in front is driving lifted diesel truck with large pipe pointing at sidewalk and he obviously had a chip fitted as everytime he boots it away from the lights a huge cloud of black smoke shoots all over the pedestrians walking along. Freaking idiot!
It was busy with pedestrians and i lost count at how many covered their faces and glared in disgust as he carried on up the highway.

To the lady in the mercedes who felt the need to pass me and jam her car between mine and the one in front of me at the end of springfield this morning....... your lane ended you could have just stayed behind me in either lane for safety and common sense purposes.

Unless waiting to turn left on rutland rd was that important you had to be one car closer of course.

It is not always drivers that are idiots. Pedestrians can be right up there, especially parents without a clue.

To the mom of the redheaded girl in Peachland in front of Bliss Bakery on Sunday afternoon: Not once, but TWICE your child was absolutely mindless in her entry into the roadway. She did not at all look before stepping off the curb. Crosswalks DO NOT automatically mean your child can step into the roadway in front of a vehicle at nearly 0 ft clearance. No one’s brakes become supercharged because your kid is stupid. That time, you were dawdling along behind not paying attention to or instructing her. The second time she was the one dawdling along IN THE LANE doing some twirlies & a little dance and you were STILL not paying attention to what this mindless offspring of yours was doing. I’m glad there weren’t cars around the second time.
