The roundabout at Casorso is allready chewed up!!

Post by Josh Lee »

How can a piece of road laid less than 1 year ago have HUGE potholes in it already and who's responsible to fix it?

I am pretty sure it was paved quickly to get it up and going before winter. Pretty tight turning for big trucks so it will likely take a beating even when it is fixed.
You can't fix stupid........BUT you can dress them up and over pay them to teach your kids!

1- shoddy workmanship(?) high water table(?) too small for larger truck/trailers(?)

2- don't know who'll fix it but i know who's paying for it..

What about the company that laid it ? Any accountability there ? It has been less than a year. Actually any accountablity for any of these companys that go months over on the finish date? And we give them an exra 5 million on the bridge for finishing on time! Is that crazy or is it just me?

Transport trucks should find a different route.

You're having a laugh.....that's fairly decent for Kelowna.

Clifton Road was patched in November 2007 - now it's falling apart and frankly - given the grade, off cambers, lane changes and general poor lane alignment, and level of traffic - very dangerous.

It's a disgrace.

I assumed that they had just put on a temporary blacktop and that that section of road still had to be completed, presumably in the spring. It is being completely destroyed by big trucks that drive up onto the brickwork to get around the circle.

The ashphalt is the first layer. Not the finished layer. But whoever engineerd the width and the radius has no clue. But then he/she will not be reading these posts anyway. Traffic ENGINEERS ?????

It has been a truck route for years. Beside big trucks people with camper trailers do the exact same thing.

Whoever put their stamp of approval on that design should be fired forthwith.

Anyone with half a clue knows dump trucks have been going up the road for years so now they put two undersized traffic circles a quarter block apart for the drivers to navigate. That's just special.

The asphalt is not the final coat however being that it's a brand new road and at least eight feet higher than it was one would think they'd be able to put proper base material in to make the road smooth which it hasn't been since day one.

The new stretch of bridge hill that goes over the new overpass isn't in any better condition.

This type of workmanship is frankly deplorable when you factor in the advanced machinery and technology at our disposal these days.

removed - Jennylives it's a designated truck route. typical response from someone who doesn't know anything but wants to be an expert. stop blaming the truck drivers for something that is beyond their control. maybe they should use the residential street in front of your house.

Its close to Swamp road...eh ...eh...Swamp road? Maybe the name says something. So we build a road thru a swampy area (way behind cause it keeps on sinking at a rumoured rate of $30.000 a a day) and a way too smaller traffic circle close by. I am not an engineer or a traffic circle expert. But have driven in many cities and countries. Wow whoever designed this probably never left the valley...........

Maybe that should read "have never been in the valley" ! ! or did you mean never left the Lower Mainland ?
