Yeah! What next? Before you know it, these less than brilliant drivers will be "drifting" around one of our drinking water reservoirs because, "THERE WAS NO GATE THERE TO STOP THEM". and there was some mud around the edges. My gawd, what does it take to possess common sense? AND I don't mean the "Two pennies that look alike", kind.

The property owner has an objection to the way HIS property is being used and has stated, "NO, it's NOT OKay with me." How much more of a hint does it take for these ______________to understand?

So, is it in fact the owners of these lots that do the loudest complaining or,
busy-bodies that continually stick their noses into things that are not
of their direct concern????

Was this answered?????

Or just another aggressive over-steer, away from the direction of travel,
resulting in yet another spin -out.
Clearly, some people need a bit more practise in their
handling techniques.

Focus on one word..GATE....When the gist of the question was..

"Who,s doing the complaining ????

Even the use of an ice covered lake would garner complaints from
some segments of society.

Are these real concerns or simply imagined ones?????

Does this directly affect you??or,
Just making it your business??

I haven't figured out where the OP's parking lot is, but there are plenty of good lots to practice on... Save-On-Foods after closing, Zellers, old Extra Foods lot, Futureshop lot, Canadian Tire, any of those parking lots after closing work great to learn car-control.

I am comfortable driving in the winter partly due to my 'practice' as a young driver... I can properly correct a skid without even thinking about it because I've done it enough times. It's just natural now.

I do think, however, that it should be mandatory to practice while learning for ALL drivers, not just 'hooligan male teens'. Even though those hooligan male teens usually grow up to be the best drivers

It is my business if these (insert sarcastic definition here) are driving and dumping oil and gas on my drinking water source.

Not nearly as toxic as whats spewed forth and dumped in this thread...

And a few vehicles ripping around on the ice of a lake will not up the
pollutants in any measurable amount above what all the boats, septic fields,
storm drains, and the like do on a daily basis

Dudes,

The snow is gone. No more drifting. Get over it.

If I see this behavior going on in my parking lot, I will be calling the cops

The last thing I need is for someone to lose control and damage my store's property... adding to my business costs.

Unless you own Zellers or Walmarts parking lots you like have a teeny weeny parking lot and are safe from it happening to you,,, I wouldnt worry too much,,, they usually use one thats big enough to play around in and is empty.
Dunno why people are talking as if these drifters are using small lots and private driveways,,,,
