This is no game, it's my right to release my brakes to get closer to the car in front of me if I want to.
Where do you think I see the driver behind me, by spinning my head 180degree to the back?
I'm fully aware of what's happening around me and maybe they didn't teach you in your driver's lesson classes... but that mirror stuck in your windshield, well, you have to look at it from times to times to stay aware of what's happening behind you, and not to put on your make up. That's where you can also see the driver behind you, while looking straight in front of you.
Am I surprised I'm getting bashed for saying this?
Nop.
Keep driving looking down at your phone, one day you'll kill someone... tap on your shoulder.. good girl, good girl.
Are you one of them?

No bashing here! Just stated my thoughts on the matter. you can simply reply without turning it into something it's not.
Driving and texting = an accident waiting to happen. No doubt about it.

I've noticed the same thing. And they'll do it at every red light. It's as though checking their cellphone has become synonymous with coming to a stop.

Criticizing instead if bashing would have been a better word to use.
Finally, I don't care what people do behind the wheel. I do... but I don't. Yes. No, it depends. Sometimes, but not right now.

That may be a bit high in reality but the girls are definitely winning.

Very true. But the majority of DUI are males... so who actually wins?

Re: Gotcha! Driving while texting or talking on phone
So, I pulled in to Chevron at Harvey and Spall last evening to fill my bike with 15 litres of the good stuff.
Got back on, rode to the Harvey exit and pulled behind a blue Jetta and waited. Oddly, the car's wheels were turned left; I hoped they weren't thinking they could make a left onto the highway.
I waited and waited and several more cars pulled behind me. I waited a bit more and now all three westbound lanes were clear. But the Jetta didn't budge.
I gingerly squeezed by the Jetta on the right and peeked in the side window. The twentyish blonde--cute as a button--glanced up for a second and then went right back to her texting.

Apparently "Robin Hood All Purpose" was the wrong answer!

I think cell phones should auto matically shut down when you start your vehicle, Then just to show people how stupid they are. Telus should build a stretch every 2 miles along the highway of telephone booths, I bet nobody would stop at them ,Calls are not important enough for that ,But risking my life because you want to yap on the phone while you drive is.Blithering idiots.
