Are their pedals EXTRA confusing???

Driving your vehichle into a building probably wouldnt be considered an accident that would be on the list and isnt part of it. Was there a specific catagory about ages of people who mistake the gas pedal for the brake pedal such as the case here.And then we have the people who may or may not be seniors that mistake reverse for drive and plow into something that way to!!

A camry, if that doesnt say senior all over it I dont know what does. Did it have the BCAA sticker on the window and the tissue paper box in the back window to? What do they do pull over and get out to get a tissue from the back window area when they have to blow their shnauze, never really got that one.

Nothing against seniors driving either but I just think that you should be fit to drive for the safety of others .

So, do something illegal that MIGHT cause an accident and you are under the microscope. Actually HAVE several accidents, no scrutiny.

The problem is that to drive when not physically and or mentally competent puts everyone at risk.

That's not a good thing!

A person who confuses their pedals should not be driving. A person who confuses their pedals and drives as far as this person did probably shouldn't be out on their own.

Has anyone seen anything yet about the age of the driver. I assume like most that it was a senior but have seen nothing to actually confirm that.

I recall in the late '80s early '90's a senior drove through the wall of a bingo parlor. May have been the one at the Blue Heights, I forget.

Anyway a few months later the same guy got confused and was driving on the Coquihalla, except it wasn't finished yet and yup hit an earth mover or something and D E A D.

I remember thinking, "What the heck is wrong with the authorities, that they let this guy continue to drive after making the mistake of driving through the side a building".

When something such as this occurs, how about a IRP for any type of impaired driver until they can be fully examined.

Great system, we have a driver that has a BAC of 50 and is prohibited, not now, but right now. But someone forgets which pedal is "Go" and which one is "Stop" and the authorities pat him on the head and let him continue.. Hello ?,,, Hello ? anyone out there ??????

And for the cops out there, I know you have a proceedure, send a letter to the OSMV etc, and you follow those rules. I'm critical of you for following the proceedure. I'm saying the proceedure is wrong.

My pedals don't confuse me, but not accounting for the change in footwear this time of year can liven up a person's driving experience. Last night I pulled into my parking spot and my car did a little jump as the side of my winter boot (wider than my shoe) hit the gas at the same time I was braking...
