How does this even happen?

I've taken that corner at traveling speed and never, ever came close to feeling like I lost control of my vehicle. Certainly not to the point where I would have rolled it.

Four young men are all doing fine after their SUV rolled over on Richter Street.
Fire personal on the scene said when they arrived the car was on its side and everyone had got out unharmed.
It is unclear what caused the accident but witnesses at the scene said the driver may have taken the corner from Lakeshore onto Richter too quickly.
No other vehicles were involved.
Richter street heading northbound was closed while the accident was being cleaned up.

My guess somebody took the corner way faster than it's meant to be taken, panicked, didn't let go of the gas pedal, started fishtailing from side to side and ended up on the side.

Or was distracted and made a last moment correction and dumped it,If the vehicle had a lift it's possible something failed.

Not that there's many other scenarios other than what you've posted here (that's my thinking too)...but wow, that's so still close to the turnoff. A lot of effing up to do in a very short distance.
Glad no one was hurt anyways.

Nobody really knows what one would do in a panic.

Speed played a big part in this incident.

Speed and Stupidity, common in lots of accidents.

Ya think? LOL
That's about the only way the thing could end up on its side in that location.
Even a suspension failure wouldn't have laid it on its side, if the driver were going anywhere near the speed limit in that location.
Grand standing for his passengers no doubt.
