Ambulance would go into the opposite incoming lane.

I arrive on Springfield to find that there are newly-installed white pylons delineating the bike lane at that intersection. For the first time in their lives, thousands of drivers are now learning they are not permitted to use the bike lane as a right turn lane.
Wonder how long they will last before someone wipes them out, seen them this morning I was headed east on Springfield so I could not tell if they are plastic or steel.
I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.

I think the old way of having plenty enough room for people to pull over and let emergency vehicles go by in the same direction was safer than having them drive over the meridian into the oncoming lane.

It is so amusing to read the newest line of reasoning used to reject safety measures for people who cycle.
I noticed the first one is scuffed up already.

Using the opposite lane is standard practice if the lane is blocked, which often times it is in all sorts of places around town without bike lane pylons.

I feel like people who are a little on the "spandex biased" side will be knocking them down late at night, ect. The giant trucks whom I have seen drive up on the curb to squeeze in and make the right at that intersection, ect.
Then the city will just have to put solid ones there.
I was coming down Gordon and stopped at the light today and I laughed out loud at all the confused, upset looks peoples on faces making the right and having to do it legally.

Not so standard with a cement meridian, depending on the height. In many cases, waiting for traffic to move is a safer option than possibly rendering the ambulance undrivable by damaging it on the meridian.

Re: Stop Driving In The Bike Lanes!
I drove past them yesterday, I had to laugh as well. I also thought Im glad I am not trying to turn with my 26' truck and 20' trailer as it would need both lanes on gordon and springfield to get around them, or the trailer would be going over a couple.
The ones closest to gordon will be destroyed before long. Its not a bad idea but the bike lane needs to stop about 10' before the corner.

Always using it as a semi-insult to cyclists - multiple posters.
Spandex-wearing cyclists are cycling equivalent to Ed Hardy wearing big lifted truck drivers. Both groups are arrogant jerks who think they're better than everybody and drive/cycle as such *removed*

LOL on the Spandex wearers - I always wonder how many of them have a sock stuffed down the front of their pants. :D

Re: Stop Driving In The Bike Lanes!
Just a note, that on Spall and Springfield heading towards downtown, the large green area at the right turn is a bike lane with solid white lines and is not to be crossed by your car. I know it seems so long to wait until you get to Spall to make your right turn, but some of us do wait and prefer not to be sideswiped by you passing us on the right, while cutting across the bike lane.

How about you learn that bikes are allowed to do that and you're not allowed to drive in bike lanes? Theres a start.
