Downtown traffic flow
During construction of the new bus area the city should seriously consider putting a temporary left hand turn signal on Bernard going to Ellis. This would greatly help with traffic flow through the summer months. Right now it is a mess. Should not be difficult to implement!!

Re: Downtown traffic flow...
I think the trucks turning south from ellis onto bernard were funnier to watch the other day... they were all too large for the small corner, add pedestrians crossing bernard and cars heading north on bernard trying to back up to let them turn haha. They should all keep going straight and make their turn on the highway instead. ohh well, we pay them city hall high wages to get the best they say hum.
It took 5 light changes to make my left turn from bernard onto ellis.

Ya, that seems about the average - 5 lights.

That whole area is a nightmare and will be a gong show once the tourists arrive. They are temporarily opening Water St for the Canada day weekend as they expect bigger volumes of course but since Bernard has been changed it only takes 2 or 3 cars turning left at Ellis (the only place you can turn left once arriving from City park end) and everyone else is backed up down Bernard unable to pass. Ellis itself with buses on both sides is just a mess.

Just wonder where these so called traffic engineers get their education? They sure know how to screw up Kelowna traffic.

Kelowna traffic is like having an elephant in your house. You re-arrange the furniture any way you want, but you still have the elephant. Unless they do something to create a by-pass so through traffic can go around Kelowna you are stuck with the problems.

They sit at a designing desk from 6 a.m. and leave work at 2 p.m. so they don't really know what the problems are from 8 to 5.
