Springfield Rd "Catch The Wave"
So I was going down Springfield Rd today and I noticed they have a new sign up (new since I've gone down that way) "Signals Timed For 50km/h" ... so I thought, great, finally we're catching up to the rest of the world. Anyways, got to the first light and it was red, once it turned green I got up to 50km/h and stayed there with no cars in front of me thinking this is the way it should be, or at least they way I'm used to. Anyway, got to the first light at Gertsmar and the light turns red. OK, must be a fluke. Light goes green, get back up to 50km/h and bang, the next light goes red. I'm thinking "seriously?" Light goes green so this time I say screw it and get up to 60km/h ... and I made all the lights to the mall.
I don't frequently take Springfield, so anyone who does, is this the norm or did I just catch it on a bad day?

I "catch the wave" quite frequently on Springfield, when no speeders around. Obviously the lights didn't like you today.

Nope, it's always like this. It does promote you driving faster. You're not alone.

I'm at 60k most of the time and make most of the lights.

I drive Springfield every day to and from work. I always drive 60km/h and I "catch the wave". The occasional time I get stuck behind someone doing 50km/h we hit every red light. Sometimes I can hit them all green going 65km/h but any faster then that and I have found you will hit them all red again.

If someone ahead, or behind you is speeding, it triggers the lights to go red.

Interesting theory. Is magic also involved?
The true business of people should be to go back to
school and think about whatever it was they were
thinking about before somebody came along and told
them they had to earn a living.

Riding the wave, if you catch 1 red you'll catch them all. haha
I drive that route to work. Seems to be timed for about 60. (120 works just as well)
