Radio interference at HWY 97 and Hudson Rd

Post by plunber »

I grew up here in Kelowna. Driving south just before you hit this intersection my radio always cuts out. Dating back to my teens and still to this day. Even my satellite radio does it. Cell reception bad there too. Anyone else experience this?

Yes that whole area is bad from halfway up Westlake (when it opens again) all down Stevens road and area. The satellite radio i have has never had any issues anywhere travelling through mountain regions and in sparse unpopulated areas yet drive down to Westlake/Hudson and it cannot find a satellite

I have noticed that too, it's very strange. I can be deep in the bush and still have satellite radio but there's a few areas on Westlake and Stevens and Hwy 97 near that intersection where it cuts out.

I blame aliens.

Well there is the possibility with Mt. Boucherie being an old volcano it could have something to do with it.... At least that is what I have been told.

Could it be due to mountains being on either side?

When I'm deep in the bush in a canyon I still get reception. That area and if there is something over my vehicle, like in a tunnel or parking garage, are the only places it goes out.
