When I was in my twenties, I blew through a red light in Kamloops. I hadn't been drinking and cell phones hadn't been invented yet. I just didn't see the light.

Luckily, it was late at night and no other vehicles or pedestrians were near the intersection.

This lady is going to have to live with this death for the rest of her life. I have a feeling that is worse punishment than the justice any court could hand down.

Plus the atonement in the form of civil penalties that she will have to pay or will have to be paid on her behalf.

In reality I do not think that true justice is possible when a person is killed as the result of a completely accidental human mistake on the part of a second person. Because humans are not perfect death sometimes takes place as a result of simply being an imperfect human.
