Thing that make ya go HUH!

Post by Ken7 »

What have you observed that just make you wonder, what was he / she thinking?

Happened to me the other day on Valley road. I come to the three way stop and in my thoughts the lady across from me stops just before I do. To my left this fellow in a small black vehicle who then comes to a very sudden stop. I motion the lady to proceed as she has right of way and I'm turning to the left.

She is slow to go, the fool to my left, jumps ahead and drives through, almost getting it as the lady moves. He is actually wearing a high visibility vest... he should be run over by a truck. HUH!

IF you have something that made you shake your head and go "HUH", post it for our laugh too!

Seems to me I had a similar experience at Valley and Union.
A lot of these guys figure that it is the first guy to move who has the right of way. If someone sits with their thumb in a dark place for 10 seconds waiting for you to move and then moves when you do it throws you off. I keep track of who moved last and take my turn, unfortunately there are the jumpers and the stallers, one just as bad as the other in my opinion.
The guy on your right has the right of way if you both arrive at the same time. Most people only want to get through the 3 way stop as fast as possible.

I live in North Glenmore and I consider the 3 and 4 way stops an IQ test, at which I watch at least one person fail daily.

It seems that more often than not, I see people who don't understand rights of way at opposing stop signs either. Many seem to think that if they are proceeding straight and the vehicle across from them is turning left, that they have the ROW.

Based on that logic, if there was a single car turning left and 1000 cars going straight through, the left turner could conceivably grow old and die waiting.

Round abouts....You signal on your way OUT, we all know you're going in, wait until your exiting and then signal for everyone's sake.

GET OFF YOU CELL PHONE!!! Saw a very close call last night crossing Water St from the Rockets game...two ladies were j-walking over to the casino parkade but this car was coming up fast. Figured he'd at least slow down as they were almost half way across. He looked up at the last second - shocker he was about 18-22 and texting!! Thank god I had my son's hand at the time or that could have been worse if he jumped out as well. Idiots!

Those that just sit there after the light has turned green.
They stare in their mirror, bring all vehicles approaching from the rear to a stop.
Then drive away!

Huh?????

The disturbing number of people that drive 40 in a 50 zone, then suddenly drive 60 in a school zone during school hours...... Huh?

Drivers that seem to wait for a blind hill or corner, or even a double solid line to pass when they've had opportunities to go when it was safe and legal. Then some of them go by and slow down at the first bend in the road.

Tailgaters...who are these people? If I can see what color eyeshadow you have on, your too close!!! Why do they feel that kissing the butt of my car is going to make me feel threatened! I have never seen so many bad drivers in Vernon! So if you are following me, be prepared to enjoy your drive!

I saw one like that this morning. some bonehead in a Delcia van ( right hand drive ) decided to pass a logging truck as they were approaching the hair pin corner on highway 33. He tried to pass on a double solid line and as the van is right hand drive he had no view of oncoming traffic. Lucky for him the logging truck driver saw him pull out and cut him off before he got out too far otherwise he would have been toast.]

If you're suggesting to us that you will deliberately go slower just to prove a point to the tailgater, then you suffer the same road rage issues as the tailgater and are just another bad Vernon driver.

Never go below the speed limit: but I am not getting a speeding ticket for someone who thinks that there time is more important than mine!

50 means 50 or 60 or 70?

I recently had to take my drivers license road test again, had been ill and forgot to renew! Passed with flying colors and I am 56....could you pass again?

Had you read my post more carefully, I said if you (not directed at you personally) deliberately go slower just to prove a point to a tailgater. In other words, by driving slower with the attitude "I'll show them" - it is the same self entitled attitude a tailgater has.
