RCMP Volunteers just before Speed Trap Purpose?
What is the purpose of the Speed Control RCMP Volunteers being 100 meters before the actual speed trap. The RCMP can nab your speed up to 3 Km with there radar guns......What is the Volunteer doing with clip board like i'm baffled, can someone clear this up?

As a warning. Letting you know that you may be over the limit - for some people it works and they slow down - and for others they shrug it off and end up with the ticket - they can't argue they didn't know that they were speeding.
