Based on the tire tracks, I don't think some people even realize that there are roundabouts.
You can see the past but cannot go there, you cannot see the future but you can go there.

They are really very simple to use ... DO NOT signal (left) to enter, signal (right) only to exit, yield to the traffic already in the circle and to pedestrians of course.
I can't wait until we get some of the multi-lane circles that have 2 or 3 lanes and more than your standard 3 or 4 exits ... it will be carnage!

I second this, that lever on left side steering column appears to rarely be used.

Driving instructors don't suggest using the left signal - only signal right when exiting.

Its a free for all, not even any painted lines ... and traffic in the circle is "yielding" to the entering traffic. If you were to put one of those at Dilworth and 97 the traffic would be backed up all the way from Vernon to Penticton

Took a taxi around there and don't recall being stopped (like that bus). I can imagine the carnage here.

The round abouts in central Okanagan are single lane, its not brain surgery. Drivers can only go to right & that driver has 4 choices. Signaling when leaving lets drivers who are about enter your intention. Theory is don't stop in the circle, I have witnessed just that.
if a multi-lane traffic circle ever came to central Okanagan, towing company could make a killing.

Re: Rutland Round Abouts
I've found that there is more exit signalling going on over time after people get used to new roundabouts as I suspect drivers are understanding the courtesy of signalling gets people into the roundabout faster including themselves. It seems to be a learned behaviour so give it time - drivers will get it after some conditioning.

Re: Rutland Round Abouts
That's a first - if you are in the roundabout you have the right of way and shouldn't need to signal except to exit and the driver wanting to enter ahead of you knows your intent - either way. Wonder if that has added to the confusion to experienced roundabout drivers of seeing a signal and automatically assuming that driver is exiting.

Unless one lived or grew up in Edmonton, they have had roundabouts way back.

Re: Rutland Round Abouts
I googled roundabouts on these forums - 471 matches - bleh.
There's a couple more spots a roundabout would be a great idea around town.
