UPDATE: 10 a.m.

Motorists report traffic is not moving in either direction on Highway 97 at Drought Hill in Peachland.

It's also believed the driver of the crashed truck may be trapped inside the vehicle.

Being a pickup, likely a "I've got four wheel drive...." types

When operating a 4X4 on slippery roads, I leave it in two wheel drive, when I take off from a stop I WANT to know how slippery it is.

From the video, I can't tell if there are winter tires or that it is a 4X4. It doesn't look like a 4X4, tires are in good condition though.

It does sport a front differential but appears to be
missing the front drive shaft.

While this driver may have gotten himself into this mess, I'm glad he didn't have to pay with his life.

He could have also lost control after evasive maneuvers to avoid a collision with someone in trouble.
