You live here in the Okanogan , which is here in BRITISH COLUMBIA , but have Alberta plates ??

Tell me again that you "contribute to our economics " ?

Gee - spending money, paying taxes - keeping people like you employed by supporting your business.

Which I believe isn't legal...

6 months as I know. Unless something has changed I'm not aware of.

It's a neighboring province. Or aren't they Canadian that federally contribute?

e experienced the most rude and at times scary road rage. I feel like a terrorist looking to take over "The Okanagan " As we see in our world we take 1 person or group and decide for yourself how to fix us!! This summer I have been shown the finger, talgated, screamed at, obscenities used...I don't know what to do. I live here, buy groceries, gas, contributing to your economics. Without us this summer Really...who comes here despite flood, fires, smoke etc.
Take your redneck Okanagan attitude and move to Alberta you'll fit right in!9

You have alberta insurance but you live here?
Good luck with your insurance if you find yourself involved in a collision that demands a costly payout on your behalf.
Lots of people in bc use an alberta address for car insurance coz it's cheaper but they have themselves fooled.
They're paying for insurance they only think they have.

You can have as many addresses as you want in Canada.
Your insurer is only concerned about where the vehicle "normally" is parked when you aren't using it at night.
When theres a half million in litigation in a file they have no problems proving where that is.
If you're in breach of your contract with them they really enjoy not giving away money on your behalf.

Where do you work?
Where are you paying taxes?
What property do you own/rent?
What utilities are you paying?'
Where are purchasing goods and services?

All difficult questions when the lawyers come a knocking to try to invalidate your insurance claim.

Good luck with that AB insurance....

If youre a full time student you have to apply for an exemption within 30 days regardless of youre residence in another province
same with military personnel

The key is where you are ordinarily resident.

If you've obtained a job in BC you have 30 days to re-register (and thus insure your vehicle) and 90 days for your DL.

It's all in the motor vehicle act of BC.

Screwing around with registration and insurance for a vehicle isn't wise.
