Tonight I was out shoveling and chatting with a neighbour and watched a few vehicles fly past us. People need to slow down before someone gets killed or hurt very bad. I saw another neighbour shoveling as well up the road so we are not the only people out but it would seem some people could care less how fast they are going.

On the bright side I now have proof that the snow plows in Kelowna do exist lol. We had one come buy a couple times tonight. first time blade up but put sand down and the second time he was nice enough to put the blade down and play away all the sand he put down the first time hahah.

The wind is extraordinary, I don't think I've seen wind like this for awhile.

Classic example of speed & the wrong tires at Harvey & Burtch. Toyota came very close to sliding into the intersection.

The hills are alive...with the sound of spinning three season tires.

Clowns.

Apparently a lot aren't. I made it around okay today but I'm amazed at how so many were snubbing their noses at the weather. Some pay the price.

This is a clip from my security cams while I was out shoveling my driveway tonight. People need to slow down in neighbourhoods because you never know what might pop out onto the road. Everyone please drive safe out there.

The car in the clip slid right into the curb where people normally walk. Please feel free to check out our other clips and videos as well.

Drove my car in the snow with all seasons, guess what happened? Nothing you know why, it's because i was driving to the road conditions.
Leaving Helmuts (might have spelled that wrong) In vernon gotta go over some slush snow garbage in the middle of the road. I purposely gave the car a bit too much throttle just to see how the car would respond, slide out on me, let off the gas and the car swung out the other way, went on the gas to counter steer and putted along like nothing happened.

People need to know how their car is going to react in adverse road conditions, protip don't ride your brakes going down a steep hill. Down shift it down into a lower gear, try and use the engine as brake. I see too many people riding their brakes going down hospital hill.

using engine braking on snow and ice can cause your wheels to lock into a slow sometimes undetectable until its to late skid, not the best advice for someone not expecting it

So far no issues using the engine brake technique on snow or ice. You do have to watch for sure, I'm not going too fast to have that issue (i think). It's all about knowing what your car will do in the snow during different scenarios.

Here we go again, wonder if it's not driving according to road conditions.

When in doubt, slow down!
