If drone agriculture takes off — and there’s good reason to think it will — we’ll be spending a lot more time looking at farmland from the air. That’s great news for farmers looking to increase the output of their fields or minimize the negative effects of too much fertilizer. That’s bad news for people who want to preserve the mystery of crop circles, mainstays of pop alien mythology which have always been made in pretty much the same way they are currently created — by guys with surveying tape and wooden boards.

The only theory that I have is that it's certainly not pranks with planks and the quasi science is the rebuttal, trying to force fit pieces of the puzzle to fit a preexisting theory of a hoax.

So you didn't bother reading it because you think it's part of a misinformation campaign? What parts of the paper do you suspect is misinformation? You realize you are as closed minded to the possibility of it not being some strange force creating these formations as you accuse us non believers of being? You claim that we're trying to force pieces of a puzzle together to fit yet you actually just make new pieces to fit your own puzzle. "I can't find that piece so I'll just make one up".

Apparently you didn't read my last post on the previous page, which I'm guessing has to do with your own preconceived notions of all formations being a hoax.

Why not consider this explanation:
These are verified facts, which is why studies published in scientific journals have tried to come up with explanations that differ from unknown or extraterrestrial. For example, Dr. Terence Meadon, a professional physicist, meteorologist, and archaeologist at the University of Oxford, said that these balls of light are a result of wind currents and ionized plasmas.

It's not a preconceived notion that they're all hoaxes. They're all hoaxes. I know I'm not going to change your mind so good luck with your beliefs.

Longwood Warren, nr Cheesefoot Head, Hampshire
http://temporarytemples.co.uk/project/l ... -june-2017

This part of Hampshire has a long crop circle history with some of the earliest recorded crop circles appearing there in the 1970s and 1980s. The central feature of the landscape here is the Cheesefoot Head (or Matterly Bowl) which is a stunning natural amphitheatre that affords spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. In years gone by the Bowl was the location for several spectacular crop circles, but it is no longer planted with crops and now plays host to the Boomtown Fair music and culture festival each summer in August. This crop circle is located to the south of the amphitheatre on a tract of land called Longwood Warren, that would have been part of the estate once belonging to the now demolished Longwood House (read more here).

This circle appears to be a motif based on the conjoining of the sun and moon – some immediately associated it with the coming eclipse on August 21st 2017 – which will be a total eclipse visible from some parts of the United States. More broadly speaking, this marriage is a union of Divine Opposites – Sun and Moon – and then all other seeming opposites. At it’s heart it is the integration of opposites leading to a new third state. This aspect of the design is in keeping with many others that hint at the transcending of duality into some new perception or way of thinking.

Cley Hill is a well known landscape feature that lies to the west of the town of Warminster. A distinctive, soaring chalk hill, once shaped by ancient seas, it is an important site archeologically and biologically. It is the home to an abundance of grasses, wildflowers and insects. Read more here. It also lies close to Cradle Hill, a famous site during the ‘Warminster Mystery’ flap – a series of strange happenings including UFO sightings that occurred in the 1960s and 1970s. You can read more about the Warminster happenings here. You can also read Arthur Shuttlewood’s original book on the subject see here for more information.

The crop circle that arrived on the 18th of July is truly awe-inspiring. A huge construction measuring approximately 500ft in diameter – simply huge! An isometric representation of two star tetrahedrons (a 3D star made from two tetrahedrons). It is also known as a Merkaba star (which means light body), or perhaps even light soul/spirit. In Ancient Egypt the Ka and the Ba were the Spirit (vital spark) and the Personality. A third component the Akh – existed in the afterlife realm and was was reunited with the Ka and the Ba after bodily death. As an image of the non-physical manifestation of human kind it packs a spiritual punch.

The central Merkaba star is contained within an elaborate six-fold flower pattern. The set of 12 small circles that link the large petals together are reminiscent of a circle that appeared at Lurkeley Hill, near East Kennett in the summer of 2005. See Geometry Gallery below for an image. We have seen quite a few crop circles based on the number six this year – a number of harmony, perfection in conjunction with structure, order and function. Perhaps this formation shows us a representation of human consciousness whole and perfected. A truly intriguing and inspiring thought!

Climping Beach, Atherington, (nr Littlehampton) W. Sussex - July 19, 2017

Great locations are part and parcel of the crop circle phenomenon, ancient stones circles, chalk hill figures, hill forts, and barrows. But crop circles by the sea are unusual. This is in fact the second crop circle to appear by the coast in the UK this year. An early circle in oilseed rape (canola) was reported on May 24th close to St Michael’s Mount in Cornwall. You can see some footage of the Cornish circle here.

This was to be a very memorable flight for us, along the south coast with views of Southampton, Portsmouth and Chichester harbours, Hayling and Thorney Islands. The little village of Atherington lies between Bognor Regis and Littlehampton in West Sussex and sits beside the charmingly named Climping Beach. The small wheat field is directly adjacent to the seashore so makes for a very picturesque location.

It’s a small formation measuring approximately 150-160ft in diameter in a field of very mature wheat, with heads beginning to drop. The design is an attractive four-fold pattern made from a series of standing circles creating a cross design. The circles are standing and outlined by flattened pathways – it reminds me very much of the circle at Woolstone Hill earlier on in the year which is of a similar design-style. The small central circle is flattened and contains a very pretty weaved floor-lay.

Four is the number of material reality, the material world, or the substance and matter of the world; the building blocks of all that is material. The cross represents the four cardinal points and the classical four states of matter; Fire, Air, Earth and Water. In this design, matter seems to be emanating from a central point where the crop is woven – the Warp and Weft of material reality? With number four comes depth, preceding it are the point, height and width. This is key to the number four as it is the addition of depth that gives substance to matter. It makes reality substantial.

The quaternity (four-fold), was also Jung’s concept of the human as four – Sensing, Thinking, Feeling and Intuiting. It might be said that it is these capacities that give us substance!

The location of the circle by the sea (water/feeling) seemed somehow apt. It made a huge emotional impression on us as we flew around it.

A recent surge in crop circles is being caused by drone users who upload their aerial footage on social media, a police force has said as it announced a crackdown on farm vandals.

Wiltshire Police issued the warning to the public yesterday following a spate of incidents in recent months, which officers said was being fuelled by scammers who generate publicity online in order to make money from advertising.

So far this year the force has been alerted to 16 incidents, with a recent circle in Alton Barnes measuring 200 acres in diameter. However, the true number is thought to be far higher because many farmers do not come forward.

That's great that the popularity is being increased by drone video and social media. That article seems a bit misleading in the beginning though, stating drones are causing the surge in crop circles, when it is merely referring to the surge in popularity. Someone could naively believe drones are magically creating the crop circles along with the physical anomalies present in the soil and plants.

I thought the article was merely stating the use of drones showing crop circles have increased the making of crop circles by people.
