Yea, because it'll be SO worth it to drive all the way into Kelowna to fill up a jerry can.
To the OP: I'm going to guess you own a gas station in Kelowna?

So I love the Okanagan but it's a place best enjoyed from atop a very large pile of $100 bills. - Spocky

Re: Boycott all Lake Country gas stations
I had planned on taking the wife to the Japanese restaurant for sushi tonight as I worked some overtime last week and have a bit of cash for a treat. I also need gas. Looking at gas buddy.com I see gas in Armstrong is still at 125.9. So rather than staying here I’m going to make the 45 minute drive up to Armstrong to fill up. I will stop at Temptations in Vernon instead of the local place as it will be on the way. I had also planned on buying a new weed whacker this weekend to tackle the foot long grass around the house, thanks to all of the rain. Home Depot has them on sale and is right across the street, I may as well pick one up while I’m there. I had planned on stopping in at the local Ace Hardware but why make a special trip to the local guy when the box store is cheaper and I’m right there anyway, I’ll save some gas. So my point is when one business in town tries to screw his customers it effects other business. Perhaps this can be a topic of discussion at the next chamber meeting?
Oh by the way I did the math and driving 100 km round trip to save 10 dollars is a complete wash, I’m doing it for the principal and am using my choice as a consumer as a protest. Will also be bringing all of my gas cans for the lawnmower etc.

That price is 26 hours old, you may want to call & see if it's the same before you leave.

If your time is worth nothing, then fly at 'er. I have better things to do than drive to Armstrong and not affect the net profits of Suncor at all, since they likely refined the gas you'll buy in Armstrong anyway.
There's no cause for alarm in the NDP ranks. I have it on good authority that if the polls get too close, Adrian Dix will back date them to April '13.

Wow miss the point much?
Suncor is selling their fuel at a rack rate of 83 cents per litre
Gas stations in Enderby and Armstrong are making about 42 cents a litre
In Winfield they are making 49 cents per litre everything being equal. It all comes out of the same pipe in Kamloops.
You are right Suncor will still make the same profit from me but it’s the local retailer that is gouging and as such I will waste my valuable free time just to make a point.
The point is: the local restaurant and hardware store are the ones that will lose out due to their fellow business mans greed.
I will save at least 20 dollars on the trimmer and won’t have to burn gas driving up and down the hill to get it from the local guy. It’s a win win for me.

So... a litre driving around Winfield vs 20 to get to Armstrong and back, because the local guys are making six cents more... Interesting mathematics there. I guess this proves "A fool and his money" adage.

So you're going to punish local businesses because of one?

I'm still sincerely hoping this post is an attempt at sarcasm. I thought it was after your first one, now I'm not so sure anymore.

Guess so

Like I already said it will cost me 10 dollars to save 10 dollars it’s a wash and no not 20 litres more like 8 to go back and forth.
Would you also call the people in Aldergrove that are paying 135.9 fools for driving 17 minutes to Chilliwack where it is 129.9? Or heaven forbid crossing the line and pay 85 cents per litre. Oh and I’m sure while down in the states may as well punish the local business and pick up some cheap milk, cheese and the kids back to school cloths. Fools.

Re: Boycott all Lake Country gas stations
I think the issue here is that ALL gas stations in a given area...i.e. Lake Country put up their prices at the same second, even when oil per barrel has not gone up. I call this price fixing which, in most commodity markets is illegal. There seems to be no healthy competion within gas stations as in other markets. So, the consumer is left with a take it or leave it option. It's the same price in every gas station in a given area. WHY????
