Problems with 101.5 EZ Rock

Postby damama55 » Mar 20th, 2012, 9:12 am

Hi, all
As you all probably know, by now, I live in Lake Country, and we are having a problem with distortion sound from EZ Rock. We love the music they play, and we still listen, but it gets sooooo annoying with the scratchiness we hear, when we tune them in on the radio. Is it just me and my friend?? I have no problem when I have them playing on the computer, but do on the radio. I have contacted the radio station, and have told them about it. Hopefully we can get THIS problem fixed. They have contacted me and asked what the problem is, as I don't think they knew.
Anyway, let's hear from others that may be having the same problem. Or if you aren't, let us know what you are doing to get it in clear with no distortions of the sound. Any help would be appreciated. I have tried tuning them in, like one notch up and down, but it doesn't help.
Thanks and all the best.

I've found that for some reason the Lake Country area just has poor radio reception period.

Happens in my truck, car, and any portable radio I use at home.

I get around it by streaming my favorite music station on the PC.

The only other way you can get around it to my knowledge would be to use a tuner which allows you to connect it to your cable and then tune in to whichever stations you can access that way. That's really the cleanest signal.

That's my experience for what it's worth.

Thanks so much. That is exactly what I have been doing and it is as clear as a bell, on my PC, I mean. Hopefully the EZ Rock will see if they can turn their broadcast signal this way, maybe just a little, so we can enjoy their station better. It seems to be a fav out this way.
As for a tuner, do I get that from a place like London Drugs or from Shaw themselves. Sorry, not up on a lot of the electronic stuff. LOL
Thanks for your input. Hopefully we can get it resolved as my friend only listens to 101.5 and I know she would love to hear it clearer.
All the best.

By Tuner I just mean a radio that will somehow allow you to feed it a cable or antenna signal.

Some older models a person could get an adapter that screwed onto the cable and then left two wires with blade terminals that could be attached to the antenna input of the radio.

Most tuners that are designed as part of home entertainment systems generally will have a cable input on the back.

If there is no provision on the back of a radio for either a wired antenna input, or a cable input, then you are pretty much hooped with that radio. Plain antennas that pick up over the air signals just don't work worth a hoot out here.

LOL LOL LOL I am such a "Duh". Once you explained it, I know what a tuner is. LOL Anyway, she does have a skinny little flexible antenna and, as you say, it doesn't work. I will see if her old, old radio might work better. It is not a digital tuner like her new one.
Thanks so very much for your help. Will let you know how it goes.

With just an antenna I think the station that I had the best chance of getting was 103.9

She won't hear of it. LOL She loves 101.5 and love John Tesh in the evening. She gets very upset if someone changes the station on her. You know how us old folks get, sometimes. LOL :dyinglaughing:
Thanks again.
