Fire Pits in Lake Country?
I'm looking at buying a place in Winfield and I'm wondering if they allow fire pits? I know the next door neighbor has one, but that doesn't mean it's legal lol.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I tend to go by whether they are allowing campfires or not, and use only seasoned wood that doesn't smoke out everyone, and it's worked so far.
I know there are many in the area, as I see them all the time.

Easiest way to find out is for her to call the Fire hall to see if it's allowed.

Possible solution would be to install a gas fire pit no smoke or embers that could start another fire somewhere.

One of the parks has a fire pit, and another one has a wood bbq grill. I asked a the fire hall last year about putting another one at another park and they had no issues with it at all. But the city needs to be convinced about this as they don't seem to care about developing a sense of community at all.

No problem with fire pits in general. Just use them for cooking your hot dogs, officially, and observe the no open fire times in the summer.

Yea we have one. Within reason, like everything else.

Yes, firepits are allowed with the normal restrictions:
- 50cm or smaller
- Dry wood only
- Only used for warmth, light, or cooking.
- Must have water nearby (garden hose or 5Gal pail)
DOLC follows regional district on burning bans. You are not allowed to have a back yard fire when a campfire ban is in place.
Open burning is different than a backyard fire pit. Open burning pertains more to bonfires and farmers burning prunings, etc.
If you are part of a strata or homeowners association, they may have their own rules about fire pits - check with them.

Careful! DLC has a habit of taking people to the Supreme Court if they hear you're doing something fun.
