What is this?
I remember an old topic about the identity of different old things, I just can't find it.
I was just going through some of Mom and Dad's old stuff in the attic and came across this. Can you tell me what it is?
It is clamped to my counter top and I put a piece of paper under it to make the photos more clear. It is made of cast aluminium.
Any guesses?

Cherry pitter
I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.

That was my first thought when I looked at the picture.
My Wife asked me if I knew what her favorite flower was?
Apparently "Robin Hood All Purpose" was the wrong answer!

What is this? I only know because my dad told me.

Is it a hat block (used to form and shape hats, primarily felt)?

A hat block would be my guess as well - I almost bought one at a garage sale this summer (but was out of money, woe)
I haven't failed until I quit.

Ok, what else have you got to show us?
Sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice. There’s a certain point at which ignorance becomes malice, at which there is simply no way to become THAT ignorant except deliberately and maliciously.

Meteorite?
I recall (not clearly, as is obvious) a Tv science program that showed space rock mixed with salt water and electrical jolt resulted in a short chainRNA molecule.
Close enough to win the grand prize? Which is??
(Hint?.. Lunch would be appropriate) (Personal groomers on speed dial.)

It is a tektite. It is a mix of vaporized impactor and earth from the Chicxulub impact 65 million years ago.
Show off!
At least, coffee and cake.

OT! A filthy rich trucker dood with pockets full of Loonies and Toonies so that he needs a belt to hold up pants.....
I am truly mortified that you would ask a penniless skunk with no pockets at all to foot the bill. Shameful.
Okay, but just this once.
