Mellencamp

Post by BGV666 »

Announced this AM John (will always be Cougarto me) Mellancamp is coming to Prospera in Feb. I imagine it will be a quick sell out. This is the calibre of performer Kelowna should be hosting now.

Damn right. Wheezing old gits, too old for death. Geez where's the self respect ? At least youth have an excuse for acting daft and wearing tight pants.

i have a theory about them...one day the lights will hit them and *poof* there will be nothing but piles of dust.

i lost interest in Johnny Boy when he couldn't decide if he was John Cougar, John Cougar Mellencamp or John Mellencamp. yeesh.

Oh, I think Mellancamp has aged quite gracefully. Talent is talent, no matter if you are 24, or 64. At least Mellancamp dumped the goofy nickname before it got embarrassing, unlike certain oldsters like Sting, Bono et al.

Me too, specially the older stuff, Cherry Bomb, Pink Houses, etc.

Wonder if that rumor is still floating about that he has a house here.

We went to one of his concerts years ago in Calgary - when his 'Lonesome Jubilee' album was just out. It was one of the best concerts I have been to. He has, or at least had, an incredible singing voice that we hadn't realized until he sang an a cappella set with one of his talented backup singers that was absolutely amazing.

I saw him in Vancouver - it's a great concert, no matter how old or ugly he is!

Wondering what the deal is with early bird tickets? Do they release a set amount for those people?
