Anyway

HAH!!! I agree! Maybe you missed my earlier post...I think Grohl is an amazing front man/influence to all current musicians, but not the best drummer, like lots of people say.

Taylor Hawkins is the absolute best regular kit, new rock drummer on the planet...he hits them like they owe him money and he plays any song thrown at him like he's played it a thousand times before....

Neil Pert is the absolute best drummer the planet has ever seen!!!

Hawkins drumming for Alanis back in 1995...

Hawkins drumming for Grohl, Jones and Page!!!

These guys have heart and bring passion back to music backed by bucket loads of talent. And Dave Grohl is really putting an effort into inspiring people to make good music. Let's give credit where it is deserved.

You go Jenny!!!!!!!!

Them Crooked Vultures are freaking amazing...but as a total band! Not one band member makes them.

Grohl should definitely not be rated as a drummer, alone, cause he ain't no where near being the best drummer out there. He's good, but he ain't world class good.

Taylor Hawkins is good...no, he's great, no, he's FLIPPING AMAZING!!! This kid drums a thousand times better than Grohl does.

But the best part is they are band mates and that's all that matters.

Now lets see Grohl get Brian May and Roger Taylor and Paul Deacon come to the SOEC!!!!!!!!! And I wouldn't mind if George Michael showed up to sing...

So, Taylor Hawkins drumming off for this Alanis song...

This is Taylor 18 years ago...1995...and how good is he drumming for the BIGGEST star at that time, Alanis Morrisette...

He musta been like what, 18 years old? But already the best drummer out there....

holy string of posts batman

Anyway, more great drummers (personally, I rank Cobham, Rich, & Peart as "the best ever")

When this album came out (1972) it blew every other virtuoso out of the water. Nothing like it, before or since. Epic talent. Cobham is his usual self here - casually & effortlessly being a beast.

And another fave, Gavin Harrison (of Porcupine Tree)

Your bias suits you.

The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.
