I had a busy weekend of doing nothing but reading.

Read the Incryptid series by Seanan McGuire (6 books and then short stories I found online), the latest Valdemar Anthology (and found three spelling errors :200: (one of which was "beat red" - really????) and the latest MHI book. Tonight I read Outcasts of Time - somewhat philosophical time travel book. Two brothers are dying of the black plague in medieval times - they are told they will die in 6 days. If they go to the standing stones, they will still have the six days, but they will each be 99 years apart. A historical perspective of the following centuries - it is pretty interesting.

I am reading Hitler by Joachim Fest

I'm only on page 59 of 845 and already learned so much about him. I always knew he didn't just wake up one day and decided to be one of the most evil people to live. He had inspiration from others. One of them was the composer Richard Wagner. He was :cuss: evil too.

Haha, no Adolfs wanted. You are terrific as you are, Ferri

Wade Davis, a highly respected Canadian author, scholar, Harvard and UBC lecturer, world traveller, ethnobotanist and anthropologist who wrote The Serpent and the Rainbow, One River (I read this one five times, laugh if you wish), has a new offering: Light at the Edge of the World.

It is timely as it discusses "race" and other issues surrounding living in today's very confused atmosphere.

Each of his books are best sellers and imminently readable.

I had the good fortune to attend one of his talks and even touched his sleeve! He speaks clearly in a highly organized manner making your mind keep up with his in a logical sequence. Totally awesome speaker....you can also watch videos by googling his name, Wade Davis. A brain candy treat for your listening pleasure.

When you get over that try Night by Elie Wiesel. That one will make you cry too.

Thanks Snman! I'll look for that! My next up after I reading about Hitler is Escape From Sobibor by Richard Rashke. That's another "I've seen the movie but...".

Okay, I finished that book. Holy cow. I felt like my head would explode. That thing is packed with info. I wish I had a dollar for every time I put my kindle down and said, " :cuss: " Or something like that. If you're interested in history at all, that book is packed with it. Pretty much everything I thought I knew about dear Hitler was wrong. lol

Now I'm reading Killing Hitler by Roger Moorhouse

There were over 42 plots to kill him, but only 20 that are well documented so that's what I'm reading about. :D

I finished "Ready Player One" by Ernest Cline because the movie is coming out. My friend heard the audiobook. Apparently, the audiobook doesn't have footnotes and is missing a pile of cool trivia. I liked it enough to read "Armada", by the same author.

I'm also reading a book on acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicines.

All readers listen up:

Spring Book Sale Fundraiser coming up.

Plaza 33 in Rutland, lobby next to the Rutland Library.

SATURDAY May 5th, 10 am til 2 pm.

Adult Fiction and Non-Fiction: $2 each.
Childrens Books: $1.00

To donate books, go to the house on Barlee Road, there is a sign out front telling you "this is the book house" right next to the community garden there. Trust me.
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?
