I just finished Rich Man, Poor Man and Beggarman, Thief by Irwin Shaw both books that I was way too cool to read in my early years. [icon_lol2.gif] They are wonderful! I loved both of them. :D

Last night I finished reading Psycho by Robert Bloch. I've seen the movie a billion times but just got around to the book. And of course the book is better. There was so much more to the story! :D

Is that the one that movie from last year was based on? Without spoilers... Bascially a mom and her kid in a room?

So, I just ventured away from my standby guys, Sk and DK and found two other guys who are A) In one case, very similar in style and one who is seriously twisted.

Joe Hill is the easy to read and get along with guy and Jack Ketchum is unlike anything I have ever come across. The girl next door and the lost being the primary two novels that helped to formulate my opinion of him. He writes about true crime and puts his own spin on things. Like they say about life, you can't make this shiiit up.

Both of these books were made into movies and both stayed very close to the book and the story but both leave you with a slimey feeling when you realize that you and the protagonists come from the same tribe.

There is even a novelette in one called weed species and as I was reading it I am saying to myself, "self". This sounds an awful lot like the holmolka/bernardo saga which it makes no reference to but after I read it I was so convinced of it that I e-mailed his publicist who said he had never heard of that particular case but that he would check with Mr. Ketchum which he did and the boss confirmed it.

He is a good writer but fair warning, there aren't many like him and the nature of these stories can only be told one way and that is to be detailed and graphic.

Joe Hill is Stephen King's son.

You would probably like Jeremy Bates too. I love his writing!

Have you read Ketchum?

And I didn't know that Hill was who he is. That explains a lot. Thanks.

Give me a title dude! :D

Also, if any of you like Joseph Wambaugh (True crime stuff), I am reading, Fire Lover: A True Story by him. I'm about halfway through and it's really good!

Paul of Dune - I was unaware Brian Herbert (and Kevin J. Anderson) has been adding to the series. This is worth the read.
