Any good movies out there?

Post by justmyopinion »

Anyone seen a good movie lately? I am especially fond of scary and "based on a true story", and especially ones that are both...

Has anyone seen The Wolfman yet?

I saw it last weekend...wasn't bad, but nothing I walked out raving about. For a period-type, suspense-y kind of movie, I like Sherlock Holmes better. RDJ is a sexy neurotic beast.

Going to check out Shutter Island this weekend I think. I might try and squeeze in CrazyHeart too, considering Oscars are next weekend.

I think we're going to go to Wolfman tonight and maybe I'll hit Shelock Holmes tomorrow then :)

Thanks for the link too! :sunshine:

Nice, I didn't realise that this was in theaters already. I've been looking forward to seeing this one.

I watched it the other day. It was decent. Typical ending though, which I figured out well before it happened. That was disappointing but the rest was good.

I just watched Antichrist last night. Pretty good flick - visually beautiful. (don't let the title put you off)
Also check out The Fountain if you like stunning cinematography.

It was decent, but pretty easy to figure out where it was going. Also, I found the score really heavy-handed which was a little distracting.

This one looks like it''s stacking up to be every bit a ride that the first one was.

Robert Downey Jr. and Sam Rockwell on the same screen?! Worth the price of admission right there! They've done a great job with Whiplash too.

Really looking forward to this one.

I saw Sherlock Holmes, and it was a terrible movie. I was surprised considering Robert Downey and Jude Law are usually great actors.

If you're a big fan of movies like "Momento" you should check out "Adoration" by Canadian director Atom Eyogan. Atom really perfected that style of movie making years before the Americans started making that kind of flick.

My favorite movie of his is "Exotica" (1994),which is definetely worth seeking out, the ending is crazy!

Wow! This looks great!!
Plus, I had a little dream about RD Jr....I'll never look at him the same now :dyinglaughing:

Hey, anyone remember at the end of the Hulk when David Banner walks into a pub at the very very end and ironman is in there and says something about "a few of them are thinking of getting together"?? I am waiting for that movie!! LOL
