Coronation Street on CBC

http://www.cbc.ca/coronation/

I’ve been a fan since I’d be home sick from school in the ‘60s

Couldn’t wait to retire and get back on that schedule.

Catch it early enough every day and there’s no commercials.

And now it has a wickedly good blog to go with it, but the facebook page is still fun too.

I've been bingeing the last few days on HBO's "The Newsroom". I missed this one entirely when it was originally airing but am making up for it now. I'm finding it very well crafted, politically relevant and cleverly written. I'm just heading into the third season which is only six episodes long, and I'm wondering why it went away?

^^^The ratings have been marginal, hovering around two million, but HBO generally places more weight on branding and stature and a show's ability to entice new subscribers rather than viewers. And that's probably where The Newsroom wrote its walking papers. Despite having the red-hot fresh-off-The-Social-Network Aaron Sorkin as its creator, The Newsroom struggled creatively in its first season and became the butt of many jokes (yet was still talked about come awards time). Improvement in the second season came too late, and now many people seem to be done with the show.

I seem to have a knack for getting wrapped up in shows that die an early death. Carnivale, Boss, Saving Grace...the list goes on.

This is a story that ran on The Daily Show - as reported by Steve Carell - after the "Burning Log" video made headlines around the world (it was a very, very slow news day).

You youtube link isnt a picture video. How do you make a youtube posting to show up as a vidoe in the window like some of these here thanks .

OK, I'll bite and admit I'm watching PLL, Season 6. However it's only because the house overruled me!

The Last Kingdom.

Hopefully the BBC comes out with another season before England tanks.

Game 7, April, 1994. Canucks vs Flames.
A classic so long as you're not a Flames fan.

Just waiting for Bure to shine.

More commercials than content. I record them so that I can FF through the commercials. It takes about 10 minutes to watch one 1/2 hr show.

Commercials are "check the forum and use the powder room" time. It's handy.
