Documentaries on line.

Post by Queen K »

This is the year I want to watch more documentaries but know that many here watch them online.

What do you recommend? I like archeology, arts, social concerns and many other subjects. But don't even know where to start looking. And yes, I plan to get Netflix this year, but they don't have everything do they?
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

Here you go Queen K. I've watched some on youtube but not since the "new" look, so not sure how quickly they load.

You should watch "Margin Call" grammy. It's not a documentary but I know you're sharp enough to pick up on a number of underlying themes. Good actors and good story and highly relevant to current times.

We just got Netflix and they have a whole bunch of documentarys on our health and the food we eat.Very similar to Super Size Me.there must be a dozen of them.I have watched a few already and some are pretty kookie but entertaining. Some are good and I want to get inspired to lose some weight.

Some of these I've downloaded, but some you may be able to find on Netflix.

One's I've liked, in no particular order:
-Murderball
-A Film Unfinished
-This Film is Not Yet Rated
-Who killed the Electric Car
-Shark Water
-Paper Clips
-The Aristocrats
-King of Kong
-It Might Get Loud (Jimmy Page, The Edge, and Jack White together. Nuff said! Great if you're a music fan)
-Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage

Ones i still have to watch:
-Exit Through he Gift Shop
-Waiting For Superman
-Global Metal :smt035
-Blood Into Wine
-The Horse Boy
-Buck
-Food Inc.
-Until The Light Takes Us

Movies based on real events:
-And the band Played On
-Der Untergang (Downfall) (memoirs from a secretary in Hitler's bunker)
-Shake Hands with the Devil (Canadians in Rwanda)
-The Rocket (life of Maurice "The Rocket' Richard)
So I love the Okanagan but it's a place best enjoyed from atop a very large pile of $100 bills. - Spocky

I enjoyed the Terry Jones series "Medieval Lives" and "The Barbarians"
He's engaging in how he relates the stories, and I can't help but laugh abit thinking of him in Monty Python.
I've only found it on you tube which is abit of a pain having to watch it in increments.

I like to listen to documentaries while I work.

Motherhood Interrupted (Documentary) - what it was like to get pregnant as a teenager in the 1960s.
