Persian or Iranian restaurants
Does anyone know if any restaurants in Kelowna serve Persian or Iranian food.

It would be awesome if there was one. I used to work with a lot of Persians in West Van and they had this restaurant they told me from North van that made these Kabobs...Oh man every time I go back to Van that one of the places I hit for food!

There used to be a Lebanese place a long time ago, but I don't know of anything now. There are many Persians in town, the owners of the Grateful Fed for example, although they don't offer an ethnic menu. I did notice a Shawarma place opened up in Vernon though.

Whats the difference between a sharwarma and a donair?
So I love the Okanagan but it's a place best enjoyed from atop a very large pile of $100 bills. - Spocky

Persians aren't Arabs. Just sayin'.

No kidding. Basically it's the same dish that goes by a variety of names depending on which eatery you eat at. The Arabic word shawarma comes from the Turkish word çevirme [tʃeviɾˈme] "turning". The Armenian dish is called tarna - 'to turn'.

Maybe I'll have to try the Shawarma. They can't make a good donair around here. They need some Lebanese guy from Edmonton to move here and show them how it's done!
