Genjie Sushi Closed?

Does anyone know the story as to why they closed?

Was it lack of business or did the owners decide to close for other reasons?

I really liked their sushi and would go about once a week. However, I never saw anyone in the main seating area, like ever...

Sushi joints seem to be a dime a dozen in this town...

Damn.

Now where will I get a Lion King.

But yeah, it was often empty. I've been there for lunch and no one else is around. Even dinner seemed to be empty.

A combo of a not great location and the service could be slow at times.

But, damn. Where will I get a Lion King?????

inevitable I guess. More to come no doubt. There are too many sushi places in this town. Also - too many frozen yogurt shops.

Every time I went there, they always sat us in the front part and we would be the only ones in the front. Yet as the meal went on, they had people coming out of the backroom. I never could figure out why they didn't keep us all in the same room.

I went by there last night and there was just a sign on the door saying they were closed. However, I did notice on the way out of the parking lot that there was a Bluetail Sushi sign posted on the pylon. Are they moving from their Highway 97 location?

Apparently Blue Tail Sushi is opening another location there. I've never eaten their food but apparently it's pretty awesome. So, a location on Spall might be a very good thing. I ate at Gengi a few times and didn't think it was all that great.
