On the small screen...

Does anyone have anything to say about "Halt and Catch Fire"?

There is a lot of good TV around these days, more than enough to fill the time I give to TV viewing, but I hate it when a winner slips past my radar.

Halt and Catch Fire looks good, but is only available as season 3 on Telus - I'm hoping to see season 1 first before picking it up (as we had begun watching Breaking Bad - backwards to forwards, I don't want to make that mistake again!)

SURVIVOR starts again tonight

HBO Canada has a new series - Vice Principles with Danny McBride (Eastside and Down).
9 episodes are available - for us bingers. A darker comedy than Mr. D

I'm a pretty big Walton Goggins fan, so I checked out Vice Principals and was pretty disappointed. I felt like the central joke is that the two lead characters are paranoid, scheming, bumbling fools who swear a lot, and it's ironic because they're school teachers. I guess that's a pretty harsh review, but is there another angle to the show that I'm missing?

Humour - not everyone has the same tastes in entertainment - hence my Eastside and Down reference. Both shows are about 'paranoid, scheming, bumbling fools who swear a lot (great review BTW) :D

Have you seen The Black List? We just started and are catching up - it highly addictive.

James Spader is simply excellent in his role.

The ones im currently watch are

HALT AND CATCH fire
MR Robot
Fear the walking dead
The walking dead
THE last Ship
Tyrant
Vikings
Ballers
The Strain
Binged watched Narcos
Game of Thrones - this almost lost me not enough action until this last season and the next two are going to be pretty good but i hate the looong delays between seasons

Guilty pleasure Survivor

As you can see i dont really watch network tv from the big three because they usually cancel the good ones and have multiple er type shows or have law and order the golden years on like 17th season...really i guess its a night time soap now...and ncis...zzzz

Like I said, there is a lot of good TV around these days. I'm not huge on Network TV either, I'd rather just do downloads and disc sets. I went without cable TV for three years and didn't miss it a bit, I'd probably still be without it had a new roommate not offered to foot the bill.

Shows of note in the fluffpad lately:

The Newsroom (a MUST see)
Stranger Things
Narcos
Daredevil
Jennifer Jones
Game of Thrones
Orphan Black
Halt and Catch Fire (I stole the first episode off the internet and it impressed me enough to order the first season)
Sense 8

^I need to check out Black Mirror, been hearing lots of good things about it lately.

My new must see TV is HBO's Westworld.

It's so good. I'm also enjoying the hell out of this season of Game of Thrones.

Trekkie fans have something new, it appears though they are giving everyone a small taste with episode 1. New show: Star Trek: Discovery
Episode 2 you either buy it or already subscribe to Space network.
