I recall the Mary Tyler Moore show was a big deal for the women's movement because at the time, women simply didn't have careers and live in their own apartments, like she portrayed. Sad day for us today, that's for sure.

My husband said Aliens too . . . but I don't think it was mentioned in the Castanet article.

Butch Trucks, one of the founders of the Allman Brothers Band.

Died of a self inflicted gun shot wound, he was 69.

In the presence of his wife ! Yikes.

He was considered one of the best drummers in history by Rolling Stone Magazine.

Hope you can Rest In Peace now. Thanks for the tunes.

Richard Hatch, Battle Star Galactica. Again, cancer.

A better write up on him. I recall watching Battle Star Galactica from childhood.

:( Yep. But 71 is not a bad age to hit.

Someone I know from the kids' school just lost her brother of 49. Cancer. Within the last two years she has lost 2 brothers (the other was 45) and 2 uncles. And she is suffering under some kind of immune system attack, she's having troubles moving (using a walker) and speaking.

To me, Richard Hatch will always live on in Battlestar Galactica.

As for my friend, well I just hope she doesn't join her brothers soon. :(

Some Jazz musician died today too, but didn't catch his name. Jazz is the worst music ever invented, which might be why I didn't recognize his name. Al something. RIP, Al.

Al Jarreau, Legendary Jazz Singer, Dies at 76
I don't have issues with jazz music, impo rap could curl up & die any time now. I know I don't need to listen to it, I don't.
